I'm Gabriel Menghisteab, a sophomore at Georgia Tech, originally from Conyers, GA. My journey here is fueled by a drive to make a positive impact through technology and a deep appreciation for visual storytelling and design. Majoring in computer science, I’m exploring how technology can be harnessed to shape experiences, solve problems, and inspire change.
Photography has become a key part of my life. I started earlier this year, and since then, my camera has opened up an entirely new way of seeing the world. I love capturing authentic moments — from the energy of city streets to serene landscapes. This passion led me to join GT NSBE’s Publications Committee, where I can channel my creativity into visual storytelling for our community, helping others see the beauty and depth in what might otherwise go unnoticed.
Lately, my interest in photography has deepened into an appreciation for architecture. I’m captivated by how structures and spaces evoke emotions, tell stories, and influence how we move through the world. There’s an art to it, a balance of form and function, and I’m curious about how technology can intersect with architectural design. Perhaps one day, I’ll be able to use my CS skills to develop tools or applications that allow others to visualize or experience architecture in innovative ways.
Combining these interests — computer science, photography, and architecture — I envision building a portfolio that not only showcases my technical and creative skills but also reflects a holistic approach to design and storytelling. I’m on a journey to explore how these fields intersect and enrich each other, driven by the belief that technology and art together can create powerful, lasting impacts
